Our mission
Healthcare where it is needed most
Many families in rural Guatemala cannot afford or reach surgical care. Every year since 2017, Friends With Purpose has sent a team of surgeons, nurses, and volunteers to Guatemala to provide free operations and improve life at home.
We are volunteer-run. Donations go toward surgical supplies, medications, cookstoves, and in-country costs, not administrative overhead.

What we do
Surgical missions
Our volunteer surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nurses perform free operations at Hospital Corpus Christi in Patzún for patients who have no other access to surgical care.
Stove team
Open cooking fires cause burns and respiratory illness. Our stove team installs clean-burning cookstoves with chimneys in family homes in the villages around Patzún.
Lasting partnerships
We have returned to Guatemala every year since 2017, working with local hospitals, religious sisters, and community leaders so care continues after we go home.

Spring 2026 Surgical Mission
Dates to be announced · Patzún, Chimaltenango, Guatemala
Our ninth mission will return to Hospital Corpus Christi in Patzún, where our surgical team provides free operations for patients who would otherwise go without care. Alongside the surgical team, our stove team installs clean-burning cookstoves in family homes in the surrounding villages.
